Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Why Should I Feed Raw Aid for Cats & Dogs?

Raw Aid is specifically designed for feeding in 80:10:10 diets, which include meat, bonemeal and offal/liver, although in some cases it can also partner weakly balanced complete feeds. However, care must be exercised especially in regard to vitamin D, vitamin A, selenium, cobalt and copper levels.

Most raw foods have to be blanched before freezing which is important to sterilise and then store food for longer periods of time. Blanching and freezing are both important for food safety, but they also damage vitamin levels, especially B vitamins. Raw Aid helps to ensure that your cat or dog are getting the target levels of vitamins and minerals in their daily feeds.

Is Raw Aid Suitable for Pregnant Cats & Dogs?

Yes Raw Aid is suitable for pregnant dogs unless there is a specific ingredient that you know your dog could be allergic to. In most cases, Raw Aid will improve the nutrient supply and help achieve a healthy puppy or kitten.

Is Raw Aid Suitable for Puppies & Kittens?

All our supplements for cats & dogs are suitable at any age or exercise level.

Do I Need to Give a Loading Amount?

No not usually. If your dog is fussy or sensitive to changes then we would advise introducing the supplement over a period of 10 days, starting with 50% of the recommended amount and increasing this gradually.

Can I Try a Sample Before I Buy?

Yes of course, if you would like a sample of one of our products please just get in touch. Please note that samples are limited to one per customer/household.

Can Raw Aid be Fed Alongside Your Other Supplements?

Yes you can give Raw Aid for Cats & Dogs along with any other GWF Nutrition supplement for cats or dogs. However, we would suggest you speak to a nutritionist to check suitability alongside any complete foods or other branded supplements. In some cases there will be a chance of toxicity by over feeding certain minerals. As highlighted, nutrients that need greater attention include vitamin D, vitamin A, selenium, cobalt, copper and iron.

Where Can I Buy Raw Aid for Cats & Dogs?

Our feeds and supplements are available at most good pet shops and country stores around the UK. To find a local stockist in your area search using our Stockist Locator. If your local feed store is not currently stocking Raw Aid please let us know and we may be able to help. Alternatively our products are also available from a variety of online retailers.

As Raw Aid Contains Grass Seed Meal, Would This Affect a Pet With Grass Allergies?

There are many variations of grass and it will depend which grass your pet is allergic to. The grass meal we use belongs to the family "Perennial Tall Fescue" and provides a good form of fibre as well as some protein.

Does Raw Aid Contain Rosemary?

There's no rosemary in Raw Aid but it does contain coconut (via copra meal), seaweed, salt, grassmeal, betaine and taurine, which can all affect taste.
